MABADI (INITIAL DISCUSSION) OF ILM AL TAWHEED)

The word “mabadi” is taken from the Arabic singular “mabda” which means introduction or initial discussion.It is important for everyone who wants to learn ilmu al tawheed that they must know about the initial discussion of this field which is accumulated in ten points:-

1) The definition of ilmu al tawheed --- Ilmu al tawheed is a knowledge which discusses about faith’s resolution in Islam through the reliable evidences .

2)The target of the discussion --- Centered on four issues:-

i)The existence and nature of God.

ii) the existence and nature of the messenger of God.

iii) The creatures and and their nature.

iv) The invisible things that are heard from the Qur'an and the Hadith.(Sam’iyyaat)

3)The benefits ---To know the real God and His messenger and achieve the success in the world and in the hereafter.

4)The priority of ilmu al tawheed among the other branches of knowledge in Islam --- It is the most noble knowledge in Islam because of the sacred of it’s study materials that is Allah and His Messenger.

5)The comparison between tawheed and other forms of knowledge --- is similar to the comparison between the tree trunk with it's branches. This means that tawheed is the basis for other forms of knowledge in Islam.

6)The earliest scholars who wrote this knowledge in a systematic way --- was Imam Abu Al Hasan Al Asy’ari (the founder of Asy’ariite school) and Imam Abu Mansur Al Maturidi (the founder of Maturidiite school)

7) The other names of this knowledge--- In addition to the name of ilmu al tawheed it is also known as Ilmu usul al din (Islamic theology) ,ilmu al kalam (theology) ,ilmu al sifat (science of nature) .ilmu aqaid al iman (science of faith ) etc.

8) The sources of ilmu al tawheed --- are from Al Quran, al Hadith and rational thinking (Al Hukm al Aqli)

9) The importance of learning ilm al tawheed ---It is obligatory on every muslim who is puberty and has a perfect mind to learn this knowledge without exception.This is called in Islam as “al wajib al ‘ayni”

10) Ilmu al tawheed’s theme of debate --- is around the three issues:-

i)something that must exist eg: The God.

ii) impossible to exist eg:gods beside The God

iii)can both exist or not eg: the all creatures
